Privacy
This is one person selling one truck. There is no account to make, no form to fill in and no newsletter. What follows is the whole of it.
What this site collects
Nothing directly. The site has no login, no comment box and no contact
form — the only way to reach me is email, and that is a plain
mailto: link, so nothing is submitted through this page.
Who else sees something anyway
A web page cannot load without telling somebody something. These are the parties that learn anything when you open it:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs — IP address, browser, which pages were requested and when. That is the same record any web server keeps.
- Google Fonts serves the two typefaces. Your browser
fetches them from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com, which means Google sees your IP address and browser when the page loads. - YouTube sees nothing unless you press play. The
videos are deliberately built so that no request reaches YouTube
— no player, no script, no cookie — until you click one.
Press play and the clip loads from
youtube-nocookie.com, and at that point YouTube's terms apply. - Gmail, because the address on this page is a Gmail address. If you email me, Google handles the message.
Advertising
I pay to advertise this truck, and I use the standard advertising tags to do it — the Meta Pixel and the Google tag. They set cookies in your browser and tell Meta and Google that you visited, so that I can show you an ad for this truck again somewhere else. That is the entire purpose. I am not selling your data to anyone, because I am not in that business — I am trying to sell a Land Cruiser.
Two things about how they are set up here, both deliberate:
- They do not load when the page does. Nothing is requested from Meta and Google until you actually interact with the page — a scroll, a tap, a key. If you land, look and leave, no advertising cookie is ever set.
- They honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends that signal — Brave and DuckDuckGo do by default, Firefox does in strict mode, and it can be switched on in others — the tags are not loaded at all, no matter what you click.
You can also turn this off from the other end:
- Meta: ad preferences
- Google: My Ad Center
- Industry-wide: optout.aboutads.info
Questions
Email at4fj60@gmail.com and ask. If you want the server logs for your own visit forgotten, say so and I will ask Cloudflare to drop them.
